Wine estate Set in the Southern hinterland of Lake Garda, along the road linking Lonato with the sanctuary of “Madonna della Scoperta” between Pozzolengo and Solferino, the ”Perla del Garda“ wine estate covers approximately 25 acres of land. “We will produce wines of distinction on the dry and stony land of our farm business”-explain the owners of the family-run business their vision. In 2000, first steps toward that aim were taken when the first grape wines were planted, taking into account the soil microclimate and texture. Now, after only 7 years, the efforts and commitment have been rewarded with one of the most prestigious awards: The Lugana DOC “Madre Perla” has been ranked among the TOP HUNDRED – Italy’s one hundred most outstanding wines.
Products The grape wines can be found in the excellent location of Lugana DOC. In that region, only premium quality wines are produced. All grapes are hand-picked and once the wine has been produced, it will either be stored in modern inox barrels or in French oak wood, where it will be refined to become excellent Barrique. The “Perla” white wine, a Lugana DOC, is produced using the characteristic grapes Trebbiano di Lugana and Chardonnay. “Madre Perla”, another Lugana DOC, is made from 100% Trebbiano di Lugana grapes. Its 2006 vintage ranks among Italy’s most excellent wines! The Lugana Superiore DOC ”Madonna della Scoperta“ is refined in Barrique. This wine is also produced exclusively from Trebbiano di Lugana grapes. Among the range of wines you will also find ”Terre Lunari“ Benaco Bresciano Rosso I.G.T, a red wine that has been refined in Barrique, with a taste full of character combining the characteristics of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon grapes.
