Wine-growing estate
The Azienda Agricola Delai is located near Puegnano, and lies embedded in the hilly landscape of the Valtenesi on the southern shore of Lake Garda. On an area of nine hectares, vines and olives are being cultivated in accordance with traditions which have been handed down for years and which are in unison with the local regulations of environmental conservation. In the cellars of this wine-growing estate the grapes are put under strict quality controls and are further processed by experienced enologists. The „archetto“, a system of cultivation, which for several years has been successfully tried and tested in the region of Lombardy, is supported by the most modern guiot methods of production and thus yields optimal results. Apart from a few exceptions, only vines which are typical for the region are being cultivated: Groppello, Marzemino, Sangiovese and Barbera. Thanks to their high quality and their special characteristics the wines are also exported abroad.
Products
The wide selection of products of the Azienda Agricola Delai includes the characteristic wines which are grown in the cultivated area of southern Lake Garda. On offer are, amongst other wines, the Groppello Gentile MOGRI, also called the "Prince of the Valtenesi", the red Garda Classico Rosso Vigna Nobile, the Chiaretto and Sovenigo Cuvée Marzemino, and the noble Barbera FRONSAGA, which is dried then aged in barrique barrels. Next to the wines, the Azienda produces also their own olive oil and the high-quality Grappa di Groppello Gentile.
Prices and awards
The wine „Garda Bresciano Groppello Mogrì 2007“ from the Delai wine cellar has won the „Confraternita del Groppello per la Valtènesi“ award. The wine cellar has also been acknowledged by the wine guide Vini Buoni D’Italia which awarded the „Menzion ad Honorem“ for the excellent job done by the azienda, a commendation reserved only for the country’s best wines.
Wine tastings and visits
It is possible to visit the wine-growing estate and the wine-cellars. During the visit the wines, grappe and the olive oil, which are produced by the Azienda Agricola Delai can be tasted. They are served with bread and typical specialities such as salsiccia, cheese and home-made organic chutneys. Guided tours and wine tastings can also be organized for groups of 8-18 persons; however, prior booking is absolutely essential.
