There’s an enchanted land where the Alps dip their toes in the blue waters of Lake Garda, where Alpine and Mediterranean landscapes flourish side by side. A land where the glorious, unspoilt countryside gratifies the soul and life follows its natural, simple course in peaceful harmony with the changing seasons. A land where a holiday is transformed into a magical, unforgettable experience.
Tremosine is in the heart of the Upper Garda Nature Park. Like a Garden of Eden set between the sky and Lake Garda, the scenery is truly breathtaking. High above the lake, natural terraces flaunt their beauty. The landscape offers a splendid combination of Mediterranean vegetation at the lakeside and Alpine flora inland where Nature lovers can enjoy a true botanical paradise rich in endemic plants that are found nowhere else in the world.
The Tremosine plateau is dotted with seventeen little villages (which make up the municipal district) set on low hills commanding matchless views across Lake Garda. Some of the villages are surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, others by pastures and woods overlooked by Mounts Tremalzo and Caplone.
Each little town has something special for visitors. The old villages are immersed in the quiet atmosphere of small mountain communities where life goes on peacefully, in harmony with the pace and simple lifestyle of years past.
Sports activity provides the easiest way of exploring this wonderful region. A well-marked network of mountain roads and trails offers opportunities for a lot of fun. On foot or by mountain bike, you’re spoiled for choice!
If you’re a tennis lover, this is the place for you. Spread over the plateau, hidden amongst the greenery, are over seventy red clay courts. A national record!
And below you, throughout the year, hundreds of coloured sails skim over the waters at Campione, Tremosine’s only lakeside village. Strong winds blowing from dawn to dusk attract many surfing, kite-surfing and sailing enthusiasts to Campione, which also has one of the biggest and best-maintained beaches on Lake Garda.
The mixture of Alpine and Mediterranean that characterises the landscape is also to be found in the cuisine, which makes local cooking absolutely unique. The numerous restaurants in the area – in the villages or at the many stunning out-of-the-way beauty spots – are renowned for following the traditions of a simple yet refined cuisine and for making great use of local produce.
The choice of local accommodation is vast indeed. Hotels, holiday apartments and agritourism properties surrounded by lush countryside and offering magnificent vistas. In keeping with the finest traditions of family-run establishments, Tremosine’s accommodation facilities offer the best in modern services and amenities.
