On Lake Garda and especially in the Val di Sogno Bay – the location of the Stickl Sportcamp – you’ll find absolute ideal conditions for a first introduction into sailing.
In small groups you will learn the basics of sailing in only five days and then get immediately started with the first sailing certificate in your pocket. This is possible due to the exclusive training method via radio. The wireless connection between trainer and learners allows the latter, from the first minute onwards, to get sailing by themselves even with a medium wind-force. The teacher keeps changing boats and crews and corrects the small groups of 3-4 boats via radio, directly, at the right moment and without raising his voice. Gone are the days of croaking voices coming out of a megaphone!
After the base course there are two ways of improving one’s sailing skills. The A-certificate or course to gain the licence for sports boats, which, after an additional five days, leads to the official sailing certificate, or the dinghy-perfection course, where you can improve on your sailing techniques. Sportive sailors have the possibility of trapeze-dinghies to improve the handling of the boat during strong winds, learn how to use trapeze and spinnaker and get a lot of information about boat-trim and fast sailing. Practically, everything modern sailing stands for and this might be seen as a preparation course for a later start into regatta sailing.
