Museum
Mart in Rovereto was designed by star architect Mario Botta. On 6.000 m2 this museum presents a first class selection of modern and contemporary art. The main focus of the collection (more than 30.000 paintings, drawings and sculptures) is on Italian 20th century art. However, the collection compiled by acquisitions, private donations and important bequests offers a unique insight into international works of modern art.

Exhibitions
Starting with Futurists, one of the most important sectors of the collection, visitors enjoy highly important Italian artistic trends of the 20th century. Central individual figures such as Sironi, de Chirico, Carrà, Morandi can be admired next to representatives of abstract art (Fontana, Burri), the rationalistic post-war movements (Guttuso, Fabbri), Pop Art (Rauschenberg, Warhol) and the Nouveau Réalisme (Arman, Christo). Also works of Minimal Art, Transavantgarde and young contemporary artists are on display. Every 4-5 months a major show with original, innovative themes takes place, each time Italian artists are put into dialogue with representatives of excellent international works of art.

Two more sites in Trento and Rovereto
The main site is completed by two more sites. Palazzo delle Albere in Trento houses superb works of art from the permanent 19th century collection as well as Andrea Malfatti’s collection of plaster prints. In 2009 Casa d’Arte Futurista Depero was opened, the only museum of futuristic art in Italy. Set up by the artist Fortunato Depero, it shows among other works of art, wall hangings designed by the artist himself, furniture and toys as well as a documentation of important stages of his works.

Cloakroom, Info-Point, Bookshop, Cafeteria (Rovereto), access for the disabled (Trento: stair lift after prior booking). Audio guide in Italian, English and German. Guided tours and workshops after prior booking. Moreover an area of 5.000 m2 for research and didactics.
